Method 1: Update Windows

Method 4: Run DISM to Repair Windows Image

DISM or Deployment Image Servicing and Management is a command-line tool used to mount and service Windows images before deployment. This service allows you to install, uninstall, configure, and update Windows features, international settings packages and drives in a .wim file or VHD.

We can use this service to fix the issue of Task Manager on your computer. Read on the instructions below:

  1. Open Command Prompt and run as administrator.
  2. Insert the command DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth in the Command Prompt window and press Enter. The process takes 10-15 to finish. Please be patient.
    • If some errors are reported, type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and tap Enter to check if the errors are repairable.
    • If yes, use the command line DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to fix the corruption.
